A Guide to Submitting Your Images:

Exhibitions held at PhotoHaus Gallery are ‘open call’, themed group shows. Open to photographers of all levels, from aspiring amateur, to emerging pro, to the established artist.

All submissions are evaluated by a panel of judges. They consider visual qualities like strength of composition, appropriateness to the theme, creativity, overall impact and technical excellence. Current calls for submissions can be found here.

How to Submit Your Photographs

Online Submissions

To make an online submission we have created a form that allows you to fill out your contact details, upload your photographs, and pay the submission fees. The link to the submission form can be found on the ‘Call for Submissions’ page.

Submissions in person at the gallery

If you would prefer to make a submission in person you can do so at the gallery. Office hours are subject to chance so please email us for times. Please provide your submission files on a cd/dvd or flash drive (please name your files as stated below), Along with your name, address, phone number, email. We accept Credit Cards (Visa/Mastercard), Interac, Cheque and Cash when submitting in person.

Submission Fees

1 – 5 images $39 (+gst)
$5 (+gst per image thereafter

Submission fees are Non Refundable

Digital File Submission

We only accept digital files. All digital images should be provided as jpgs only, 72 ppi, image width not to exceed 1024 pixels on the longest side. For initial evaluation of your work, we only need ‘web quality’ of your images. When submitting your images they must be titled as follows:

Files should be titled as follows: FirstName_LastName_1Title.jpg

Acceptance Notification

Photographers will typically be notified of acceptance approximately 3-4 days after the submission deadline.

Print Sales:

If accepted, artists may choose to offer their work for sale. PhotoHausGallery does NOT take any commission and will not be involved in the sale. The role of PhotoHausGallery will be to establish initial contact between the Photographer and buyer. From there, both parties will take over the negotiations and sale process.

If a sale has occurred while the exhibition is still ongoing, the Photographer agrees to let the image(s) remain in the gallery until the show has closed.

PhotoHaus Gallery Usage Rights:

Artists whose submissions are accepted for exhibition grant PhotoHaus Gallery the right to use their images for the purpose of marketing the exhibition, marketing related programs, and subsequent display on the PhotoHausGallery’s website, unless indicated otherwise.
