Exhibition Themes:
Photo Haus Gallery is open year-round and hosts about 1 Exhibition each month for a total of about 12-15 Exhibition in a calendar year. Most Exhibitions stay up on our walls for 2 weeks.
The great majority of Exhibitions are Themed Group Shows open to photographers of all levels, from amateur to emerging pro to established artist.
Several times each year, we will also host special shows which can be of several kinds.
- Solo Shows will featured the work of a single photographer,
- Small Group Shows will featured the work of a select and, usually, small group of photographers working either on a single or various themes.
- Special student shows and photo contests will also be part of our exhibition schedule.
Themed Group Exhibitions will feature an ‘Open Call For Submissions’ posted on our Homepage. You can submit work that fits this theme and/or your artistic interpretation of it. The deadline for submissions is usually scheduled 3 weeks prior to the Exhibition Opening.
All submissions will be evaluated by a panel of qualified judges. They will look for visual qualities like strength of composition, appropriateness to the Exhibition Theme, overall impact and technical excellence.
You will be notified no less than 2 weeks before the Exhibition Opening about whether your work has been accepted for Exhibition. If your work is accepted, you then have until 3 days before the Exhibition opening to either print, mat, frame and drop off your finished artwork to us, or you can take advantage of our services such as frame and mat rental and fine-art Exhibition quality Printing.
In all cases, finished pieces ready for Exhibition have to be in our Gallery 3 days before the scheduled Opening Reception.
Along with the completed application form, please submit your work via e-mail or by sending us a CD/DVD with your files. You can also come to the gallery during business hours and drop off a CD/DVD or bring in your images on a USB key or memory Card for us to copy.
Please note that for initial evaluation of your work, we only need ‘web quality’ of your images. You do NOT have to submit the finished high quality images until your work has been approved and chosen to be included in the exhibition. More specifics on these guidelines are mentioned below above the application form.
The Galleries Business Hours are:
Sunday & Monday: Closed
Tuesday to Thursday: 3pm to 7pm
Friday: 3pm to 6pm
Saturday: 12pm to 3pm
Outside these regular hours Gallery is open by appointment only.

We only accept digital files. All digital images should be provided as jpgs only, 72 ppi, image width not to exceed 1024 pixels on the longest side.
Files should be titled as follows: LastName_FirstName_1Title.jpg
E-mail digital files to Submissions@PhotoHausGallery.com, or drop off in person at the Gallery. Please note we are not able to return any CD/DVD’s mailed to us. You are welcome to pick them up in person after the show has closed.

Submission Fee:
Non-refundable $35 for the first 5 images, $10 for each additional image. The submission limit is 15 photographs per artist per show.
We accept Credit Cards (Visa/Mastercard), Interac, Cheque and Cash as payments. You can come to the gallery during opening hours and make your payment in person.
Online Payments are available through Paypal. You don’t need a Paypal account to make an online payment, just a major credit card.
Applicants must be 18 or over. We do accept international applications from photographers outside of Canada.
Acceptance Notification:
Artists will be notified of accepted work via e-mail approximately 2 days after the deadline for submission. If selected, artists will be sent instructions for submitting work for exhibition.
All accepted exhibition prints should be on paper, sized to be matted to fit in an 11 x 14 or 16 x 20 frame unless another format is approved by the Gallery. This is true whether you decide to bring your own frame or use our frame rental service.
Print Sales:
If accepted, artists may choose to offer their work for sale. PhotoHausGallery does NOT take any commission and will not be involved in the sale at all. The role of PhotoHausGallery will be to establish initial contact between the Photographer and interested buyer. From there, both parties will take over the negotiations and sale process.
If a sale has occurred while the exhibition is still ongoing, the Photographer agrees to let the image(s) remain in the gallery until the show has closed.
PhotoHausGallery Usage Rights:
Artists whose submissions are accepted for exhibition grant PhotoHausGallery the right to use their images for the purpose of marketing the exhibition, marketing related programs, and subsequent display as thumbnails on the PhotoHausGallery’s website, unless indicated otherwise.
