It is a difficult task to go from photographer to editor. Particularly when self-editing – there is always the danger of making subjective judgements. Equally, it is as challenging for us to remain objective when curating submissions at Photohaus.
We begin by considering the following; composition, mood, technique, style and execution. As well as (and particularly when considering nude photography) tone, texture, contrast and location. All of these are aspects we should consider when shooting or editing our photographs.
Below is a great example that ticks a lot of the boxes. The shot ‘Bonnie On The Floor’ is by the excellent Robert Farber. His work continues to influence photographers all over the world. You can see more of his photographs here: http://www.farber.com/nudes/
